I got caught!

I woke up late for work today so the subway was unusually crowded. After squeezing my way on, I managed to stand smack dab against the door. I hate leaning on the doors. I have this fear that they'll just pop open on me and I'll die. Well, after the train started to move, I noticed my coat was stuck in the door. My first reaction was to pull, trying to free myself. Then I thought, "What if I trigger the door to open while we're moving?" I stood very still.

I had four stops to go. For four stops I was stuck in the subway doors. My heart was racing. I had nothing to grab ahold of should the doors suddenly fly open. I would be dead under the subway train. The train slowed down in between the stops. What if I were to blame for holding the train up during rush hour? Those people would kill me. If I didn't die from the moving train already. I couldn't move. Still. Scared. Stuck.

The doors open. We were at Lexington Ave. Phew. I quickly walked towards the escalator. My heart was racing like I had just ran a marathon. I couldn't believe the anxiety I felt. I'm glad it turned out alright.
